- 4 boneless, skinless chicken
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Layer ham and Swiss cheese slices on each chicken breast.
- Roll up chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Coat each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat butter in a skillet and brown chicken on all sides.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, add milk, cream, and shredded Swiss cheese. Stir until smooth.
- Add Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Serve chicken with the Swiss cheese sauce.
Notes
- Use toothpicks to secure the rolls before baking.
- Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
