Ingredients

- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups carrots, sliced
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine chicken, broth, and water.
- Add carrots, celery, and onion. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes until the chicken is cooked.
- Remove chicken and shred it. Return shredded chicken to the pot.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add melted butter and milk to the flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the pot.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.

- Use fresh vegetables for better flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator.
