Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles for topping
  • Ketchup and mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  3. Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
  4. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
  5. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on top of each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  7. Assemble the cheeseburgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles as desired.
  8. Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the buns, then place them on top of the assembled burgers.
