- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ketchup. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a teaspoon of mustard to the brown sugar and ketchup glaze.
- Ensure the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F for safety.
