- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg

- Black food coloring
- Frosting for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.

- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Chill the dough for at least an hour to prevent spreading.

- Use a cookie cutter to cut out black cat shapes from the flattened dough.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden at the edges.
- Let cool on wire racks before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.
