- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Dip chicken pieces in buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

- For extra crispiness, double-coat the chicken by dipping it in buttermilk and flour twice.
- Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature.
