- 1.5 lbs beef sirloin tips, cubed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef tips and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over onions and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Stir well.
- Return beef tips to the skillet. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until beef is tender and gravy thickens.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
- For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and stir into the simmering sauce.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
