Description

Beef Stroganoff is a classic Russian dish featuring tender beef strips in a creamy mushroom sauce, served over noodles or rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat
  2. Add beef strips and cook until browned, then remove from pan
  3. In same pan, sauté onions and mushrooms until softened
  4. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
  5. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to combine
  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth
  7. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and mustard
  8. Return beef to pan and simmer for 5 minutes
  9. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream
  10. Season with salt and pepper

Notes

  • Slice beef against the grain for tenderness
