Description
Beef Stroganoff is a classic Russian dish featuring tender beef strips in a creamy mushroom sauce, served over noodles or rice.
Ingredients

- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat
- Add beef strips and cook until browned, then remove from pan
- In same pan, sauté onions and mushrooms until softened
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute
- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to combine
- Gradually whisk in beef broth
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce and mustard
- Return beef to pan and simmer for 5 minutes
- Remove from heat and stir in sour cream
- Season with salt and pepper
Notes
- Slice beef against the grain for tenderness
- Don’t let sauce boil after adding sour cream
- Serve immediately over egg noodles or rice
