Description

A delicious and flavorful beef shawarma wrap recipe that’s easy to make at home. Packed with spices and served with fresh vegetables and a creamy sauce, this wrap is perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large pita bread or flatbreads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef in the spices. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef for 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  3. Warm the pita bread or flatbreads on the grill or in a skillet for a few seconds on each side.
  4. To assemble the wraps, place a generous portion of the cooked beef on each pita. Top with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
  5. Drizzle with tahini sauce or garlic sauce, then wrap tightly and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can customize the toppings and sauces to your preference.
  • For added flavor, consider adding pickles or hot sauce.
