Description

This beef shawarma wrap recipe features tender, marinated beef wrapped in warm pita bread with fresh veggies and a flavorful garlic sauce. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons shawarma spice mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce or garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, olive oil, shawarma spice mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in batches, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Warm the pita breads on a skillet or in the oven for a few minutes until soft.
  4. To assemble the wraps, place a generous amount of cooked beef in the center of each pita bread. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and drizzle with tzatziki sauce or garlic sauce.
  5. Fold the sides of the pita over the filling and roll it up tightly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to add additional toppings such as pickles, olives, or hot sauce for extra flavor.
  • You can also substitute the beef with chicken or lamb if preferred.
