Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  8. Drain pasta and mix with the beef sauce.
  9. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan if desired.
