Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded cheddar cheese and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.
  6. Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with additional BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the patties in BBQ sauce for 30 minutes before grilling.
