A hearty Italian-American pasta dish with layers of ziti pasta, rich meat sauce, and melted cheese.

- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti pasta according to package directions, drain.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet, drain excess fat.
- Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti with ricotta cheese.
- Layer half the ziti mixture in a baking dish, top with half the meat sauce and half the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or bell peppers to the meat sauce.
- Let the baked ziti rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
