Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package directions, drain.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet, drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti with ricotta cheese.
  6. Layer half the ziti mixture in a baking dish, top with half the meat sauce and half the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or bell peppers to the meat sauce.
  • Let the baked ziti rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
