  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Crispy, golden-brown onion rings made effortlessly in your air fryer. A healthier twist on a classic favorite that’s perfect for snacking or as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions, sliced into 1/4-inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Dredge each onion ring in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the onion rings in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  7. Spray the tops of the onion rings with cooking spray.
  8. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding grated Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • You can also season the flour mixture with additional spices like cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • If you prefer thicker onion rings, you can use thicker slices of onion and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
