Description
This air fryer ham recipe yields a perfectly caramelized and flavorful ham, ideal for holidays or special occasions. It’s quick and easy, making it a great choice for any dinner table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fully cooked ham (around 3–5 pounds)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1/4 cup apple juice or orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, black pepper, and Dijon mustard if using.
- Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. This helps the glaze adhere and adds flavor.
- Rub the sugar mixture all over the ham, making sure to get it into the scored areas.
- Place the ham in the air fryer basket, and pour the apple or orange juice into the bottom of the basket to add moisture.
- Cook the ham in the air fryer for about 30-40 minutes, basting with the juices halfway through, until heated through and caramelized.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach at least 140°F (60°C).
- Remove the ham from the air fryer and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Choose a ham that fits comfortably in your air fryer basket. You may need to trim it down slightly.
- For a spicier glaze, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce to the glaze.
- Leftover ham can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
