- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- Sprinkles (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness.
- Use a donut cutter or two round cutters to cut out donuts and holes.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the donuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.
- Air fry the donuts for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly.
- In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve a smooth glaze.
- Dip the top of each donut in the glaze and add sprinkles if desired.

Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a teaspoon of nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
- These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
