Description
Crispy, juicy chicken made effortlessly in your air fryer. This recipe provides a perfect golden-brown crust and tender meat, making it a family favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in chicken thighs, skin-on
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, making sure they are fully submerged. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow dish, add the flour. Remove chicken from buttermilk, shaking off excess, and dredge in the flour, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Place the coated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can double-dip the chicken by returning it to the buttermilk and then the flour before air frying.
- Feel free to substitute chicken thighs with drumsticks or breasts, adjusting cooking time as needed.
