- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally to make thinner pieces.
- In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg and water.
- Dip each chicken piece in the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, flip, and spray again. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Air fry for 2 more minutes until the cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before cutting to keep it juicy.
- Adjust cooking time if chicken pieces are thicker.
