Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut chicken breasts in half horizontally to make 4 thin pieces.
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  5. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, then dip in the egg, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with olive oil.
  7. Place chicken in the air fryer in a single layer.
  8. Cook for 10 minutes, flip, then cook for another 5 minutes.
  9. Top each piece with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  10. Air fry for another 2 minutes until cheese melts.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spray the breaded chicken with cooking oil before air frying.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for a crunchier texture.
