- 4 catfish fillets
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Soak the catfish fillets in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Remove each fillet from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge the fillets in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated fillets in the basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Spray the tops of the fillets lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the catfish is golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- You can adjust the spices to your preference for more or less heat.
- Serve with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or coleslaw for a complete meal.
