Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into cupcake liners, filling each 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
  6. Let cupcakes cool completely.
  7. In another bowl, beat powdered sugar and butter until fluffy.
  8. Add milk and red food coloring. Mix well.
  9. Frost cooled cupcakes with the mixture.

Notes

  • Use heart-shaped sprinkles for decoration.
  • Store in an airtight container.
